There are even helicopters. And I love this cap not only because it’s beautiful but because it’s bittersweet. This is them watching the bad guys get away. Clark lassoed a helicopter for her while Lois beat everyone up. They solved the mystery. They did everything they could and it wasn’t enough. Chloe will call in an anonymous tip later, but in this moment they have to grapple with the fact that they can’t always wrap everything up in a nice justice-y bow, and they are discontent. Moments like this lend weight to what comes later, when Metropolis becomes their home, when they care enough to dig their heels in and make the city change around them.
